Antigua & Barbuda

Programme Overview

The Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority was created by the government to promote and attract domestic and foreign investment.

Two options are available for the Antigua and Barbuda citizenship-by-investment programme; either a cash donation to the National Development Fund (NDF) sent directly to the escrow account managed by the CIU or investment in real estate through one of the government approved real estate asset classes. This covers freehold property with title deed, hotel shares, fractional ownership or land. Investment starts at $250,000 for the NDF donation and $400,000 for the real estate option.

The Citizenship-by-Investment Programme (CIP) was established following parliamentary approval and is in Section 6 of the Citizenship-by-Investment Act, 2013. The CIP requires a person to make a stipulated economic contribution to the country. In exchange, and subject to stringent application procedures, including thorough background checks, applicants and their families are granted citizenship.
